Setting up my camera on a tripod with a flash in front of E&O, I took 42 shots, trying to capture a nice trail of lights as the cars pass by. Only 2 (below) worked out fine. Although I only got 2 shots that passed the criteria, I’m quite satisfied as this is my first attempt photographing light trails.

Siew Eng and Ah Ghee's Pre-Wedding Photos
I am really happy that i got the opportunity to tag along with Adrian for Siew Eng's pre-wedding photoshoot. It was an eye-opening experience and i learnt so much in a day! Thanks Adrian, Matthew, Sher Ren, Yoong Nian and Teong Keat for all the advice, pointers and the huge amount of photography gadgets. (There were all together 8 flashes, the models were being blinded and we really felt as if we were paparazi). Not to forget, big thanks to Siew Eng and Ah Ghee for being such patient models.

My first SLR property :P
I finally did it! Today i bought MY VERY OWN 18-105mm lense! This is definately a significant milestone in my journey as a learning photographer. When i started photography 4 months ago, i would not even consider spending RM100 on camera equipment. Yeah i was interested in photography and was always carrying my beloved digital camera around, but i definately would not consider even spending 1micropercent pie share of my pay on any equipment. Not when you have so many shoes, bags, tops, skirts and dresses to buy hahaha.
I loaned the D70 from Keith since he has a new D300 baby already and i borrowed a 15-55mm w/o VR lense from Malcolm. Good deal huh? I started learning to use SLR camera without even spending a penny. But as time passed i realized that the 15-55mm is no longer good enough for me. I need a better lense that can zoom further, take sharper pics and better portraits. But as ussual, i'm all for economy economy economy. Hence i got 18-105mm which i think is a lense that can "pau ka liau" (good for all purpose - group photos, portraits, lanscapes blah blah blah). One lense for all! I don't want to carry too many lenses around and i'm damn clumsy when it comes to changing lenses and also carrying too many things around of course. Some say its good, some say its bad. But let's let the pictures speak for the lense!
Can't wait to try it out in Siew Eng's pre-wedding photoshoot tomorrow. Stay tuned!
